Towson Maryland Feels Just Like Home to Me

I had landed my dream job in administration at John Hopkins and was looking forward to moving halfway across the country to Baltimore and starting my life after college when I realized I had nowhere to move my belongings to, and a job that would start in less than a week. Searching through listings for Towson apartments seemed like my best bet as the location was perfect and the area of Towson would be much like the area I had spent my childhood in. Not too large, not too small, close to work and with a university nearby, I could continue my education when ready.

I had worked throughout college and wanted a nice place to live where I could meet plenty of new people and house my small, but growing collection of grown-up furniture pieces. Over the past couple of years, I had slowly but surely gotten rid of the curbside castoff couches, tables and chairs and replaced them with quality pieces I would buy on layaway from a local furniture store. My mother is an interior designer and helped me choose pieces of furniture with quality and character that would last me for many years and I was so excited to finally have a place to put it all and enjoy my life as a full-fledged adult.

What I didn’t think about was moving all of that furniture, along with my other belongings and with just three days to go, my wonderful father gifted a rental moving truck and enlisted the help of my younger brother to help with my move. Thankfully, my father is the ultimate organizer and managed to pack the small moving truck perfectly. I was also happy to have some company on the road as my brother took turns riding with me in my car and my dad in the moving truck.

While it was a long trip, with little time to spare, we made it and I am loving my new job and life in Maryland.
